Ken joined MSW Group in 2006. As a Principal in the tax department, he helps guide the department’s strategy and serves as a mentor to its staff. Beyond his leadership role, Ken serves as a trusted advisor for the firm’s clients. He specializes in providing comprehensive estate tax planning services to high net worth individuals in the healthcare, professional service and manufacturing industries.
Ken began his career in 1978 when he joined Touche Ross and Company, which later merged into Deloitte and Touche, LLP. He was promoted to Tax Partner of the firm in 1988 before pursuing his own private practice in 1991. Most recently, Ken worked for Virchow, Krause and Company, LLP. Throughout his career, he has maintained a focus on real estate taxation, estate and trust planning, and tax planning services.
Ken is a graduate of Oakland University where he earned a degree in political science and economics in 1973. He has also completed accounting coursework at Walsh College. Ken is an active member of several professional organizations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA) and the MACPA Task Force for Personal Financial Planning. In addition, he has served on the board of the Greater Oakland Visiting Nurse Association and filled the treasurer post for the Birmingham Bloomfield Jaycees.
Ken attributes his professional success to his strong work ethic and dedication to his clients’ needs. He strives to go the extra mile for his clients and does whatever it takes to help them succeed. Specifically, Ken helped one client purchase real estate out of bankruptcy, resulting in profits of more than $1 million for the client. In addition, he frequently shares his industry knowledge by serving as a speaker on high net worth tax planning and charitable giving.
Born and raised in Detroit, Ken currently resides in Farmington, Michigan with his wife. In his free time he enjoys boating and engaging in sports car shows and activities.
