Michael joined MSW Group as a Principal in 2006. He has over 28 years of industry experience, including both public and private sector accounting. Michael previously served as partner, for 5 years at BDO Seidman, LLP and 9 years at the "Big Five" firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP. His career began at Hoover Universal, Inc. as a Corporate Tax Coordinator and Operations Divisional Controller in 1977.
As a Principal in the tax department, Michael leads the State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. He specializes in tax services including merger and acquisition assistance and settlement negotiations. Michael also oversees departmental functions including day-to-day operations and staff development.
Michael's comprehensive education includes a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the Michigan State University College of Law and a Master of Science degree in Taxation (MST) from Walsh College. He is also a graduate of Eastern Michigan University where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (BBA) in accounting.
Michael maintains active involvement in a variety of industry and community organizations. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, the Detroit Chamber of Commerce Taxation Committee and the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT). Michael is also a member of the Detroit Athletic Club (DAC) and the Michigan State University Law School Alumni Association.
Michael currently resides in Novi, Michigan with his wife and three children. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, skiing and woodworking.
